Our Focus
Web security
We develop technology and services to secure online platforms from cyber attack. Over a million people access websites under our protection everyday. We harness the power of machine learning to improve attack mitigation and lead investigations into malicious network activity, exposing the perpetrators and strengthening our clients’ advocacy efforts.
Censorship resistance
We support freedom of expression and association as defined in Articles 18, 19 and 20 of the UDHR. We develop technology to counter internet restrictions and fragmentation, protecting and empowering online voices, and securing online communications. Our tools are free and open-source, and designed to ensure an informed and collaborative society.
Capacity Building
We strive towards equality on the Internet – to empower and protect its users from the excesses of surveillance and malware industries. Our intervention methods include creating learning guides and curricula, establishing digital training centres around the world, and building movements among aligned technology organizations.

Deflect is a website security service that protects against DDoS attacks and cyber threats, offering ethical, transparent, and affordable protection with advanced AI-driven bot detection, encryption, and secure hosting. It prioritizes support for non-profit and civil society organizations, ensuring improved website performance and availability.
Baskerville
Baskerville is an analytics engine that leverages machine learning to distinguish between normal and abnormal web traffic behavior.
Deflect Labs
Deflect Labs is a research and development arm of the Deflect project, concerned with mitigating malicious network traffic. The effort combines human intelligence into attack provenance with artificial intelligence (AI) that can detect and challenge anomalous behavior.
eQPress Hosting
eQPress is a secure hosting framework built and managed for you, by the Deflect team. It offers additional protection to WordPress built websites, and includes our customized features on top of the standard WordPress dashboard.
Ceno
Ceno is the first mobile browser designed to enable access and sharing of web content in regions with restricted internet. Using a peer-to-peer network that strengthens as more devices join, Ceno is designed for users in censored or unreliable internet environments, allowing web access even when global connectivity is limited.
Ouisync
Ouisync is a secure, peer-to-peer file-sharing app that allows users to store, sync, and share files across devices without centralized servers, ensuring privacy through end-to-end encryption and customizable permissions. Ideal for collaborative projects and secure backups, Ouisync provides unrestricted access to shared content, even in connectivity-limited environments.
eQsat
eQsat provides digital content via satellite to regions without internet connectivity or facing censorship, using low-cost technology for decentralized routing and storage. By delivering terabytes of web content, it democratizes access, promotes freedom of expression, and supports digital literacy, making information available to all Ceno Browser users.
dComms
dComms addresses the need for decentralized communication solutions in countries or regions where communications infrastructure is restricted by repression, war or climate disasters. Developed in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the service was designed to respond to censorship and internet access restrictions, but its uses go beyond war and conflict. dComms bundles various decentralized internet services (e.g., Mastodon, Matrix, BlueSky, Delta Chat, Ceno Browser) on local servers, enabling resilient communication networks.
eQTV
eQtv delivers educational content to internet users and TV audiences on essential topics like information security and cyber hygiene. Broadcasting in over 60 countries, its mission is to elevate digital security literacy and privacy awareness, empowering individuals to safeguard their online presence.
Conferences
Our conference series fosters global collaboration to address critical challenges to internet freedom. These events bring together researchers, journalists, developers, and advocates to tackle issues such as internet fragmentation, censorship, and digital aggression. Through dynamic discussions and hackathons, participants explore innovative solutions, share strategies, and enhance tools to defend online freedoms and combat propaganda.

Our helpdesks empower communities with expert support to enhance digital security and privacy. By addressing local needs, they provide timely guidance, raise awareness of digital threats, and promote secure technology adoption, fostering resilience in an increasingly complex online world.
Training
eQualitie collaborates with community organizations around the world to develop and deploy educational opportunities that instill local competencies in open-source technologies, digital security, and shutdown preparedness.
