Today, we are seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the shoes of a project manager, working in a small team that is focused on supporting global communities through decentralized and federated communication systems. We are growing the project’s initial deployment in Ukraine to another five global regions, working with dedicated community organizations to manage the service and grow the userbase. This is a relatively fast-paced environment with a strong sense of individual contribution and close-knit project teams. We expect individuals to grow into their roles but also to make it their own.

Job Description

Your team will be comprised of technical developers, Internet and user experience researchers, as well as capacity building staff. You will have access to the organization’s communications, design and administrative resources. There are two primary responsibilities for this role:

  • Reporting to senior management, you will interface between the project team and the rest of the organization, ensuring timely, accurate and purposeful communications, clear timelines and task assignment, regular reporting and budget management.
  • Separately, you will manage the project’s external communications, including relationships with our international partners – communities deploying and building a user base around our software.

You will need to utilize eQualitie’s resources to ensure that our deployment partners have the necessary means and support to deploy, maintain, manage and grow the project inside their communities. Your ability to multitask, communicate clearly and work well under pressure will be key in this important role.

We’d like you to have:

  • A solid track-record of managing technology initiatives and projects focused on supporting digital communications and community building
  • First-rate written and verbal communications skills in English (other languages a plus!)
  • Experience with grant management – reporting, evaluating performance and managing finances
  • Practical experience in digital communications, content creation and outreach
  • Practical experience in community/client management
  • A shared spirit of working in a not-for-profit team that is driven by defending and promoting human rights in the digital domain

It would be great if you also had:

  • Comprehension of technical topics including digital communications, fediverse, wireless technologies
  • A security mindset and experience with end-user digital security solutions, processes
  • Surprise skills that would be useful in this multi-faceted role
