Case Manager 2010 is an online tool to record and analyse cases of human rights violations. It has been built to meet the requirements of legal and research organisations, with emphasis on usability and the security of stored information.

Description: Clients connect over a secure channel and use the Firefox browser to interact with Case Manager 2010. The interface and navigation of the tool attempts to reflect the real-life process of recording human rights violations. Details of victims, witnesses and perpetrators are associated with each case, as are the specifics of committed violations. Google Map referencing and keyword tagging allows to pinpoint the location and nature of a violation and helps create associations between numerous cases in the system, useful for further analysis, litigation and lobbying.

Application: This tool was originally commissioned by and developed for Rights & Democracy of Canada. It has been implemented around the world by local and international NGOs working on collating information and leading legal proceedings into cases of human rights violations.

Technical Requirements & Security: Case Manager is an open-source tool built on the Drupal platform. eQuality can provide hosting, support and further development as necessary. All data will be securely stored and backed up on eQuality servers. Additional privacy for communicating with Case Manager can be implemented using the secure sockets layer (SSL) protocol as well as an optional customisation to allow login privileges only to a pre-defined group of computers.

Case Manager can also be downloaded free of charge for groups who wish to set up and run their own version of the tool.
